Top-Tier Global Law Firm | Band 1 Ranked Practice | High-End Corporate Finance Transactions

We’re proud to be partnering with one of the world’s leading global law firms as they continue to expand their market‑leading banking and finance practice. This is a rare opportunity for an experienced lawyer to join a premier banking and finance team working on some of the most significant and complex transactions in the Australian market.

About the Firm

They are a trusted adviser to top corporates, financial institutions and governments, with a growing base of 4,800+ people across 30+ offices. Their ambition, progressive mindset and commitment to excellence set them apart — as does their genuine investment in people.

The firm offers:

  • Flexible work options
  • 26 weeks paid parental leave, irrespective of gender
  • Extensive health & wellbeing benefits including subsidised gym memberships and corporate health plans
  • Global career pathways, secondments and international mobility
  • Award‑winning Learning & Development, mentoring and study support
  • A firmwide commitment to social impact, pro bono and volunteering

The Opportunity

Their banking and finance team is one of the firm’s core powerhouse practices — a Band 1 Chambers‑ranked group advising on high-end, large-cap and complex corporate finance and leveraged finance transactions. Their work spans the full spectrum of sophisticated debt structures.

The team advises on some of the most notable sponsor-driven transactions in the market, working with leading PE and major financial institutions. Due to ongoing growth and an exceptional pipeline, the team is now seeking a Senior Associate with strong leveraged finance experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise on the structuring and execution of leveraged buyouts and high-end acquisition financings
  • Provide sophisticated advice on risk allocation, lender protections and security packages
  • Draft, review and negotiate facility agreements, intercreditor arrangements, security documents, guarantees, and all ancillary documentation
  • Lead day-to-day transaction progression, managing clients, counterparties and advisers through execution
  • Mentor junior lawyers and contribute to the team’s development
  • Support practice growth through business development and market engagement

About You

  • 5+ years' loan markets experience, ideally from a top-tier or highly regarded mid-tier firm, or in-house
  • Demonstrated experience in leveraged finance and complex debt transactions
  • Outstanding communication, drafting and analytical skills
  • A commercial mindset and the ability to negotiate effectively
  • A collaborative approach with the ability to lead, mentor and also operate autonomously
  • Energy, initiative and a genuine commitment to client service

Why This Role?

This is an opportunity to join a high-performing, collegiate team working on some of the most sophisticated leveraged finance transactions in Australia and the region. They will offer you the platform, resources and brand of a truly global firm — while providing the flexibility, support and development opportunities to accelerate your career.
